Ferrer Bobet is situated in the Porrera region, a breathtaking piece of nature in Priorat. Porrera is one of the coolest parts of Priorat due to the influence of a north-easterly wind. In addition, there is a subtle influence of the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyards of the Ferrer Bobet winery are among the highest and steepest in the region and there is a large difference between day and night temperatures. This ensures that the grapes get the optimal ripening period and retain good acidity. The slate soil - a feature of many top vineyards in Priorat - gives a unique touch to Ferrer Bobet's wines. The winery has 70 hectares of which 15 hectares are planted with vines, most of which are almost 110 years old.
At Ferrer Bobet, respect comes first. From the ancient traditions of vine growth to vineyard maintenance and winemaking. There is also respect between the two old friends Sergi Ferrer-Salat and Raül Bobet. Due to their great passion for wine culture, they launched their first two wines in 2008: the Vinyes Velles 2005 and Seleccìo Especial Vinyes Velles 2005. The Seleccìo Especial is made from grapes from the oldest vines in the Priorat.
