The Nelin 2017 from Clos Mogador It is a blend of mostly white Grenache and Macabeo and comes from a small vineyard of 5.8 hectares divided into 4 plots and on average between ~7000 bottles are made from this.
From 4 different plots totalling 5.8 hectares of our own vineyards come the grapes that will be used in the unusual blend that will result in this great white wine, Nelin. The grapes are harvested by hand from sloping terraces made up of slate soils known locally as llicorella and located at 350 -500 metres above sea level. Fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature of between 16 -18ºC. in oak barrels and wooden vats for 20 - 30 days to follow a 12-month maturation in 1200 L. oak barrels, followed by a further 6 months in stainless steel vats. Bottled in June 2019 a total of about 7500 bottles.
