This Mas de la Rosa Gran Vinya Classificada 2021 from winery Vall Llach is the only wine, along with "l'Ermita" from Álvaro Palacios and Mas Doix "1902, Tossal d'en Bou, to have obtained Gran Vinya classificada (grand cru classe).
The fermentation of destemmed grapes takes place in 300-liter wooden barrels with spontaneous yeasts. Three days cold maceration before fermentation, 17-19 days fermentation at a temperature between 25 and 29 ºC with daily pigeage and gentle remontage.
Then the wine matures for 10 months in foudre and egg of cement. During the 10-month period, the wine is refreshed.
The annual production of this GVC is 1,312 bottles.
This Mas de la Rosa Gran Vinya Classificada 2021 has an intense cherry red color with a garnet rim.
The nose is intense, elegant, complex and very expressive. Black fruits and ripe red fruits. Reminders of chocolate, balsamic, mineral, violets, eucalyptus. Little by little, spices and toasted notes become apparent. Vanilla, coffee, cocoa. Delicate, elegant and very pleasant.
In the mouth fresh and voluminous. A powerful, deep wine, with a lot of concentration, but also silky, creamy, very nice and elegant. Ripe fruit with toasted oak. Perfect acidity. Very long, persistent and mineral finish.
