The Porrera Vi de Vila 2022 is a top wine from Vall Llach. This wine is made from the oldest vines (older than 100 years) and can age beautifully. The composition is 50% Cariñena with 50% Garnache.

The yield here is barely 300 grams of grapes per vine. Not for nothing did Lluis Llach (Catalan chansonnier and wine fanatic) give his name to this wine.

    The Porrera Vi de Vila 2022 is deep dark purple in color, almost black.

    In the nose lots of dark fruit such plums, black cherries and blackcurrants with notes of granite, black pepper, chocolate, vanilla and smoky notes.

    In the mouth lots of dark fruit. Beautifully round, complex and with lots of depth and an everlasting finish. A wine you have to taste two to three times to grasp its richness of nuances. Power coupled with underlying finesse, complexity and above all depth that emerges after several years of bottle aging.

    Fits perfectly with:

    Aged cheeses, spicy dishes, grilled, roasted,  stewed game: boar, duck, grouse, pheasant, game, und meat and lamb.

    About this wine

    This Porrera Vi de Vila 2022 is a blend of 50% Cariñena and 50% Garnache.

    The destemmed grapes ferment in stainless steel tanks of 2,500 and 5,000 liters.
    20 days fermentation at a temperature limited to between 20 and 25 ºC with daily atomization and gentle remontage.
    12 days post-fermentation maceration followed by gentle pressing. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.

    Then the Cariñena is transferred to 17 hl of French oak and 20 hl of second-year barriques of light- and medium-roasted fine-grained new French oak.
    The Garnache aged in Austrian oak barrels.
