The Mas d’en Cacador 2022 (Vi de Paratge) from winery Vall Llach in Porrera is a new wine in the range of the prestigious winery from the Priorat.

This red wine is a monocépage of 100% Garnacha Tinta from very old vines dating back to the year 1915.

The Mas d’en Cacador 2022 is aged for 10 months in new Austrian oak barrels.

    This Mas d’en Cacador 2022 from Vall Llach winery shows in the glass a medium turning red color.

    In the beautiful nose delicate aromas's of black plums, violets and dried flowers with hints of graphite, cedar and rarabar.

    In the mouth dry, full of dark fruit, graphite, spices with a silky and concentrated mouthfeel. Still very young but with enormous potential.

    About this wine

    This monocépage of 100% red Grenache is Vall Llach's new wine in the top end of the world-famous Mas d’en Cacador vineyard located on the outskirts of the village of Porrera.

    The old vines and vineyard face north, giving it far fewer hours of sunlight at the end of the year. Located in the Mas d'en Caçador plot and planted on high slopes.

    Other wineries also found on this vineyard are Nin Ortiz, Celler Cal Pla, Celler de l’Encastell and Giol Porrera.

    Wines awarded the DOQ Priorat Vi de Paratge (lieu-dit)must meet the following conditions:

    • Since the 2017 harvest.
    • Vines grown in a single location whose boundaries are determined by the Regulatory Board.
    • Made from vineyards owned or long-term leased (minimum seven years).
    • Maximum yields: 6,000 kg/ha for whites; 4,000 kg/ha for reds.
    • Minimum 60% Garnacha and/or Cariñena.
    • 90% of the vines must be at least 15 years old; the remaining 10% must be at least five years old.
