Red wines from Priorat - Porrera Vi de Villa 2015

Porrera Vi de Villa 2015

Vall Llach

Druiven77% Cariñena 23% Garnache

The 2015 Porrera Vi de Vila is a top wine from Vall Llach. This wine is made from the oldest vines (over 100 years old) and can age beautifully. The composition is 77% Cariñena with 23% Garnache.

The yield here is barely 300 grams of grapes per vine. It is not for nothing that Lluis Llach (Catalan chansonnier and wine fanatic) gave his name to this wine.

  • Tasting Note Porrera Vi de Villa 2015

The 2015 Porrera Vi de Villa is deep dark purple in color, almost black.

In the nose lots of dark fruit like plums, black cherries and black currants with notes of granite, black pepper, chocolate, vanilla and smoky notes.

In the mouth lots of dark fruit. Beautifully round, complex and with a lot of depth and an everlasting finish. A wine that you have to taste two or three times to grasp its richness of nuances. Power coupled with underlying finesse, complexity and especially depth that emerges after several years of bottle aging.

    Pairs perfectly with:

Aged cheeses, spicy dishes, grilled, roasted, stewed game: boar, duck, grouse, pheasant, game, und meat and lamb.

Then the wine is transferred to 300 liter barriques of lightly and medium roasted fine-grained new French oak and foudres of 2nd year.
