The 2018 vintage received 98 points from Robert Parker.
This 2019 Espectacle from René Barbier (Espectacle del Montsant) has an intense red colour with a very clear presence of purple tones reminiscent of the glow of a ruby.
The nose is intense, complex and very attractive. Tones of blackcurrant, raspberry, very ripe orange peel with a subtle reminder of forests. Gradually, with the breath, floral notes emerge. The rose and orange blossom, personality traits of the soil,
The wine is rich in the mouth without being too tannic. The concentration is based on subtlety and, above all, the incredibly aromatic notes. The palate is velvety with a burst of flavours. A beautiful wine with remarkable persistence.
Fits perfectly with:
Roasted red meat, matured cheese, roasts, chocolate, Iberian ham, red meat with sauce and fresh fish in oriental style.
Espectacle 2019 is a beautiful red wine produced in Montsant by the winery Espectacle del Montsant. The winery is unconventional, a project formed by a team of world-leading wine experts, with the aim of producing one exceptional wine. A wine capable of conveying the sensations of a hundred-year-old vineyard. A true 'espectáculo' (spectacle).
All the work in the vineyard is done by hand. The harvest, the grapes are picked from the same vineyard at the optimum time. The grapes are then transported to the winery in small containers where they are chilled for 24 hours at 4ºC.
After this time the grapes are destemmed and the best grapes are selected for the next phase. The fermentation of this wine takes place in very fine French oak barrels with the yeast coming from the same vineyard. There is a series of pumping over to obtain the desired level of colour and tannin extraction. Once fermentation is complete, the wine is macerated for 4-5 weeks before being aged for 14-16 months in the same barrels.
