This V de Mas Igneus 2020 is a blend of 38% Grenache, 25% Merlot, 23% Pedro Ximenez, 10% Viognier and 4% Grenache Blanc.
V de Mas Igneus is made from 63% red and 37% white grapes, grown in two different and opposite plots, the warmest and the coolest of the vineyard. As a result, the red grapes were harvested 38 days earlier than the white.
10% of the must was fermented in 400 L. oak barrels to increase the complexity of the nose and balance the liveliness of the mouth.
After alcoholic fermentation, it undergoes a blending with its lees in the same containers. The advantage of this method of aging is to naturally protect the wines from oxidation and to bring density to the mouth.
In the glass a straw yellow color with golden reflections.
In this dry, bright and brilliant white wine we find a floral freshness, rose petals, white carnation dominating with hints of candied citrus, pears and apricots.
On the palate dry with medium acidity and medium intensity. The finish has medium(+) intensity with citrus and balanced minerality.

V de Mas Igneus is a wine inspired by the owner's daughter named Valentina. It is a wine selected from the vineyards of the Costers de l'Ermita, with special characteristics because it is made mainly from red grapes, which makes it unique among Priorat wines.

The selection of new vintages from these Costers de la Ermita vineyards, consisting of vines about 20 years old. With the soil formed by gray and copper shales, called "llicorella" in this area, will give this wine special characteristics that make it unique among the wines of the Priorat.
