The 2017 Les Eres Especial dels Carnes by winery Joan Simó is a blend of 75% Garnatxa Negra and 25% Carinyena.
Les Eres Special dels Carners, is a red blend made from century-old vines of Grenache and Carignan, from a single estate, "Els Carners", a very small vineyard located in the municipal district of Bellmunt at an altitude of 400 meters. Hand harvested with a cold pre-fermentative maceration 10 ºC 3 days. Alcoholic fermentation at controlled temperature, with a maximum of 28 ºC in fiber tanks. Total maceration time 20 days. Malolactic fermentation in barrels and aged for 18 months in new French oak.
Very small production (average 0.4 kg per vine), only 466 bottles are made
In the glass a deep garnet red color with black core.
In the medium(+) nose aromas of ripe black fruits such as plums and blackcurrants with notes of licorice, spice, pepper, cedar and clove with smoky nuances.
On the palate, dry and concentrated with medium acidity and medium nicely integrated tannins. Complex and concentrated with nice structure and personality. Finishes with a wonderful long lasting finish.
