This Miserere 2013 from winery Clos de L'Obac is a beautiful wine and also the only one from the Priorat region with Tempranillo in its composition.
The special characteristics of Miserere 2013 (Mas d'en Bruno, 13th century) come from grapes from old vines - planted more than 40 years ago - of the local varieties Grenache and ull de llebre (Tempranillo) and from grapes of the oldest Cabernet Sauvignon vines in Priorat, masterfully combined with grapes of the varieties Merlot and Cariñena.
These five grape varieties are planted on one of the finest slate soils in the entire DOQ Priorat area. They give Miserere the honor of being one of the most elegant wines suitable for aging in bottle.
This Miserere 2013 has an intense ruby red color.
In the nose beautiful black fruit, sweet wood, dried plums with notes of tobacco, coffee and spices.
In the mouth, a nice integrated wine with soft tannins and sufficient acidity. Round and full with a nice long finish.
Pairs perfectly with:
Beef, lamb, game, Asian cuisine and poultry.
Miserere 2013 has the same assemblage each year of 27% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Garnatxa, 26% Tempranillo, 10% Cariñena and 10% Merlot.
The assemblage is identical each year, making this wine the perfect exponent of its millésime. After maceration and fermentation, the wine goes 12 months in French oak (50% new, 50% from the 2nd year).
