The Clos Galena 2019 from the Clos Galena winery of the same name is a blend of 40% Grenache, 20% Cariñena, 20% Syrah and another 20% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Manual selection of the grapes. The fermentation and maceration of the grapes takes place separately, in stainless steel tanks. The skins are then gently pressed to continue the malolactic fermentation. Finally, the different varieties are mixed before being put into the barrels.
Maturation: 12 months in new French oak barrels and 24 months in the bottle.
The Clos Galena 2019 shows a cherry red color, almost opaque and very complex, very elegant and ripe. In this wine we try to exploit all the potential of the terroir, so characteristic of Priorat, in each vineyard plot separately to show its own individuality.
The aromatic, pure and elegant breadth stands out, with mainly spices, especially black, which mix with ripe fruit. The minerality is also combined with balsamic. In the mouth it is a very complex, intense, voluminous and long wine. All this contributes to making this a fleshy, fresh and long wine.
Perfect with:
Rice and pasta, poultry, white meat, red meat, game, sausages, cold cuts, meat stews, eggs, pâtés, foie gras, blue fish, mature cheeses, vegetables and leafy greens.
CLOS GALENA, with a purple hue, offers an aromatic profile but is a large-scale wine that borders on opulence. Rich, layered and with a lot of structure, this hedonistic wine will develop over 5 to 7 years. Robert Parker
