In the glass a golden yellow color.
A very nice and full nose with pear, honey, white blossom, wax, dried apricot, smoke and earth.
In the mouth dry, medium (++) bodied with medium acidity and wellïntegrated alcohol. A distinct flavor intensity with notes of acacia flower, mango, pineapple, butter, vanilla, anise and lemon and a nicely balanced and long finish.
Fits perfectly with:
Hard cheeses, oily fish, seafood, poultry, pork.
L’Escarpat is one of Clos de l’Obac’s most exceptional white wines. The wine comes from a single vineyard in the mountains around Torroja del Priorat and is made from Xarel·lo and Macabeu. This clearly sets L’Escarpat apart from the classic Priorat white blends, while at the same time demonstrating just how versatile the terroir of Clos de l’Obac can be.
The grapes are handled with the same precision and care that characterize Clos de l’Obac. The combination of the characterful Xarel·lo and the refinement of Macabeu results in a white wine that possesses both Mediterranean richness and the tension and minerality so typical of the steep, poor soils of Priorat.
L’Escarpat is produced in very limited quantities. It is precisely this small scale, the single-vineyard origin, and the unique selection of grapes that make this wine a true connoisseur’s cuvée. A white Priorat for those who want to look beyond the well-known names and discover just how much depth and aging potential a white wine from this region can offer.
