This 2020 Kyrie magnum is one of the most beautiful and complex white wines from the D.O.Q Priorat. At the bottom of Mas d'en Bruno, with a southern exposure, lies the small Kyrie vineyard, which contains vines of four classic white grapes of Catalonia: White Grenache, Macabeu, Xarel-lo and Muscat of Alexandria.
The optimal ripening of the four grapes that make up this white wine, along with a light maceration of the grape skins, gives Kyrie exceptional structure and complexity as well as exquisite finesse. Aged in new barrels of French oak, it offers excellent potential for longevity and good development in the bottle over a period of many years.
This 2020 Kyrie Magnum from winery Clos de L'Obac has a golden yellow, amber color in the glass.
A very beautiful and expressive nose with pear, yellow apple, nuts, straw, marzipan, almond, honey with a soft butter touch and sweet spices.
On the palate a great mouthfeel with medium(+) acidity and aromas of citrus, apricot and pineapple and notes of caramel, honey, cedar and brioche. Ending with a big finish and the potential to age very nicely and long. Not an everyman's friend but the true wine lover can certainly appreciate this one. Decant the wine equally well at a young age. With this magnum, the wine can easily age for at least 15/20 years.
Pairs perfectly with:
Hard cheeses, oily fish, seafood, poultry, pork.
