The 1903 Centennial Garnacha 2019 comes from their oldest Garnacha vines in the Partida de Coma de Cases in Poboleda, 115-year-old plants on a slope of llicorella shale that yield no more than 300 grams of grapes per plant. The destemmed grapes were sorted twice and fermented in stainless steel with neutral yeasts.
The wine matured for 16 months in brand new French barriques and was bottled unrefined and unfiltered in 272 numbered bottles in March 2019. It is a dark and concentrated style of Garnacha. There are plenty of tannins that will soften with time. This wine will be Vinya Classificada (Cru) in the 2020 vintage
